Dear Net Impact members and friends,

Hope you are enjoying the start of summer...even though the weather is a bit gray and rainy recently. 

In this issue of our June newsletter, we will discuss recent events and also remind you of our next upcoming event, which is on Thursday June 18th at the Pink Cow!

1) Past events

Thanks to everyone who came out to our last event on Organic and Sustainable Wines, held at the Pink Cow on Monday, May 18.  This event was held in conjunction with Orca International, a company specializing in importing and spreading the word about fine Pacific Northwestern wines.  Drawings were held and the winners won bottles of Orca's fine wines.  We hope that you were able to learn more about organic and sustainable wines while meeting new people in a fun and relaxed setting. 

2) Upcoming events

Please join us on Thursday, June 18th for our joint event with Beers for Books taking place at the Pink Cow.  Beers for Books is a fundraising project that supports the non-profit organization Room to Read.  Beers for Books is a fundraising concept to support Room to Read's local language publishing program. Drink a beer, create a treasured book for a child.  Beers for Books holds networking events at bars around the Kanto area (and across the world!) where the participating bar will generously help support contributions to Room to Read.

3) Introducing Japan For Sustainability

We are pleased to inform our members about an innovative organization in Japan providing information on sustainability in Japan to the rest of the world, in English and Japanese.  Their website is a great source of inspiration and information...check it out!

梅雨のシーズンが近づいて参りましたが、さわやかな初夏を楽しんでいらっしゃ
いますか？

この6月号では、最近のイベントに関するレポートと6月18日（木曜日）にピン
ク・カウで実施する次のイベントについてご紹介いたします。

1)過去のイベント

5月18日の月曜日、ピンク・カウにおいてオーガニック＆サステイナブル・ワイ
ンに関するイベントを行い、たくさんの方にご参加いただきました。ありがとう
ございます。このイベントは質の高いパシフィック・ノースウェスタン・ワイン
を輸入販売し、その魅力を日本に伝えているオルカ・インターナショナルとの協
力のもと開催されました。会場では抽選会が行われ、当選者にはオルカから素晴
らしいワインが提供されました。楽しくリラックスした雰囲気で他の参加者と語
らい、オーガニック＆サステイナブル・ワインに関する知識と理解を深めて頂け
たことと思います。

2)今後のイベント

6月18日の木曜日にピンク・カウにおいて「Beers for Books」とのジョイント・
イベントを開催します。Beers for Booksは非営利団体「Room to Read's」の
ローカル・ランゲージ・パブリッシング・プログラムを支援する募金運動プロ
ジェクトです。Beers for Booksのコンセプトは「ビールを飲んで子供達に本を
提供しよう」というものです。このようなBeers for Booksのネットワーキン
グ・イベントは主に関東地域の（そして世界中の）Room to Read'sの趣旨に賛同
するバーにおいて開催されています。
